Dillon Beach is a beach village with swimming, surfing, boating, clam digging, and sun bathing.
There are plenty of country roads for bicycling along pastures, and meadows of wild flowers, going through small towns such as Tomales and partaking of some of the best baked goods around.
Horseback riding is up highway 1 near Bodega Bay.
Other activities include kite flying, beach combing, spas, fitness clubs, cinemas, golf, antique hunting, miniature golf, hiking, bicycling, boating, fishing, clamming.
Area
Dillon Beach is 65 miles north of San Francisco, 20 miles west of Petaluma, 10 miles south of Bodega Bay. It is an area that is still pristine with pastures of cows and sheep with deer and hawks entertaining you.
There are a variety of dining opportunities from hamburgers and home style Italian at Valley Ford, to exquisite dining in the wine country or Bodega Bay not to mention a terrific cafe in the village of Dillon Beach.
Unique shopping in boutiques on country roads in Sebastopol, Duncan Mills, and Bodega Bay are a lot of fun. Large shopping malls are available within 40 minutes in Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park. There are factory outlet stores lees than 30 minutes away in Petaluma.
There is hiking, boating, bicycle riding, horseback riding, wine tasting, all within 20-30 minutes.
